Although, Philippines is a low-HIV-prevalence country, the incidence of HIV has been increasing as compared to previous years. The increase is among homosexual men, and it's more prevalent among those who are in their 20's.

Even though what you'd get is not as severe as HIV, you can still be infected with STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) caused by viruses such as herpes simplex virus 2. For those who are sexually active, always practice safe sex. Loyalty to one's partner also decreases the chances to being infected with STD.
