Ideas for Kiddie Pool Party

Children loves pool party! Summer is fast approaching, and this is a good time for everyone especially kids to have fun under the sun.

To add more excitement to the pool party, it's a good idea to turn it into a bubble bath pool party by renting a bounce house and a bubble machine to run during the party.

To begin with, make sure that if you want to set up the pool party on your backyard, have it cleaned and free of items that may cause accidents. Kids are super active and it is expected that they will be running around.

Inflatable pools and above ground pools are great for adults and kids. To ensure safety when the kids are swimming in above ground pools, you can place a pool alarm. With activities involving kids, the safety of these kids should be number one on the list.

Plan how many kids you will be inviting. Don't invite too many if you know that you have a limited space in your backyard. Make your invitation as nice as it can be. Blue is a good theme since it's a pool part. Of course, prepare delicious foods for the guests. Finger foods are highly recommended for pool parties.

The Invitation by Oriah

It doesn’t interest me
what you do for a living.
I want to know
what you ache for
and if you dare to dream
of meeting your heart’s longing.

It doesn’t interest me
how old you are.
I want to know
if you will risk
looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn’t interest me
what planets are
squaring your moon...
I want to know
if you have touched
the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened
by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.

I want to know
if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.

I want to know
if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you
to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations
of being human.

It doesn’t interest me
if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear
the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.

I want to know
if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”

It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live
or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.

It doesn’t interest me
who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.

It doesn’t interest me
where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know
what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.

I want to know
if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like
the company you keep
in the empty moments.

Life's Unexpected Circumstances

Last year, I lost a good friend to Meningitis. It was something unexpected. He was very young and has a lot of dreams to fulfill. Well, there are circumstances in life that are beyond our control. Some people that look very healthy get sick, and before you know it they succumb to that illness. It's really a sad thing.

How many people you know died of cancer such as breast cancer, cervical caner, lung cancer, and malignant Mesothelioma? Maybe you'd be able to name a few. What's important is, you keep your body healthy and keep your faith in the Divine Power.

Dwight

There are times, I stare at him from afar, watching him laugh and play. "This is the joy of motherhood", I whisper to myself. I am not a perfect mom, far from it, but I am doing my best to be worthy of being called "Mama".

Dwight is my source of joy, my inspiration to be better at what I do. I learned to be selfless because of him. I think that's what motherhood can do you. I make sure he is okay, even if I am not. I put him first before my needs.

I love you, son.

Skin Rashes

When Dwight stayed at my aun'ts home for a weekend, he went home with red skin rashes. I do not exactly know what caused the allergies. I am lucky enough that I never been allergic to anything (except for judgmental people, but that's a different story). He experienced itchiness that he cannot stop scratching his skin. For the rashes to not get worst, I bought him an allergy relief ointment for the itchiness to subside. My poor baby!

Always Ready!

When you have a kid, you have to be always ready! That means being ready for anything that can happen. Kids are so active that they can sometimes hurt themselves. A few weeks ago, a portion of Dwight's legs was burned by a motorcycle exhaust. I wanted to scold him but seeing him go through such pain makes me want to comfort him instead.

As a mom, we should always have everything ready in our bags. Before, I prefer small purses but when I have to bring Dwight with me, I needed a bigger bag. So, I asked a good friend to make some custom tote bags for me. Now that I am a mother, I learned to appreciate bigger bags so that I can always carry with me whatever my son needs.

Fun Time With My Baby

Two days ago, we were so bored at home so Dwight and I decided to go to Timezone. Without noticing it, we spent more than an hour trying to get more tickets from this coin machine. We were able to exchange around 600 tickets for a cap, keychain and some toys for Dwight. I promised Dwight we will do it again when he does not have classes. It was such a good mom-and-child bonding moment.

Pigging Out!

It's summer here in the Philippines soon. Aside from expecting a super hot weather everyday, expect also a lot of invites for fiestas. Fiesta is a Spanish word which means party. There's a lot of feasts of different saints celebrated during summer.

Since there's a lot of food such as lechon, and other Filipino delicacies, I can't sometimes help but pig out. I am not really worrying about getting fat because I can always turn to alli weight loss products. But of course, too much cholesterol is not good for the heart.

That Beautiful Glow

This is my sister, Inah.

I had always been envious of her skin. She doesn't experience pimple/acne breakouts as much as I do. Her skin is so low maintenance but it's really clear and smooth. I use some high end products but they don't seem to be effective at all.

All I really wanted is to have the beautiful skin glow. I still get acne breakouts from time to time. It makes me feel like I am still in the puberty stage. But it's one of those things that I would rather not experience again. Do you know any adult acne treatment that you can share to solve my problem? Feel free to leave a comment here.

Who's Coming to Visit?

Baby Tyra will be going home to the province soon. She's born here in Manila but it's time for my sister to bring her home. So, to my relatives in the province, when your doorbells will be buzzing, you know it's Baby Tyra coming to visit you. But it's going to be more convenient for us and the baby if you just come over our house and have a peek of her sweet sweet smile. The picture above is one of her most recent pictures. She seems to be lost in her thoughts, or maybe she's just hungry and wants more milk.
