The Doting Grandma

My parents must be very happy for having two wonderful grandkids. Nevermind about us children, I think we gave our parents so much headache. My sister and I sometimes get afraid that my parents are spoiling them too much.

Here's a picture of my mom and Tyra outside the aiport in our hometown. My mom said she's now looking for costumes that Tyra and Dwight can wear for Halloween. That sounds too early for me. But I think my mom is just really excited.

Oh, It's Baby Tyra!

Baby Tyra is now 9 months old. She can now walk with the aid of that cute pink baby walker. She can now sit on her own. She's always crawling! Can't wait for her first baby steps.

In the movie "Gentlemen Prefers Blonde" Marilyn Monroe sang the song "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend". Her performance in that movie made the song unforgettable. Speaking of that line, I think it must be really true that girls love the glitter of diamonds. Engagement rings often have diamond stones nestled on them. Diamond is a symbol of everlasting love, simply because it can last forever. Well, if I have the extra money, I would like to have diamond earrings.

There's a lot of diet pills in the market. They promise to help you reach your ideal weight. Some promise instant weight loss. Some are being promoted by well-known celebrities. Some pills, like lipozene, offer free trial. Some pills are affordable and some slightly expensive. Does it mean that the higher-priced ones are the more effective weight loss pills?

Less Computer Time

My son and I have an agreement that during school days, he won't be allowed to play on the computer. He can only play computer games on weekends. When I was a kid, there were lesser distractions for me to review my lessons at home. Before, it was just the watching time on tv that parents worry about. But now, distractions comes in more varied forms such as gaming consoles and internet.

I would prefer Dwight to play sports games such as basketball than sit in front of the computer or tv all day. The distractions may be there, but it's up for the parents to regulate their kid's use of these gadgets.

Cancer Patients

While watching a noon time variety tv show yesterday, the girl that was wearing a bandana covering her head caught my attention. Obviously, she must be covering her balding head, that was the effect of chemotherapy. Her husband, who was a contestant on the show, was explaining to the audience how they overcome all the trials that came their way. His wife having a cancer is the hardest of those trials.

I really admire cancer survivors, and also their loved ones who supported them all the way. For instance, I heard about this woman who had a malignant Mesothelioma. She was so thankful that her husband was always there by her side when she was recovering from the illness.

When I was pregnant and someone asks me if I prefer a baby boy or a baby girl, I would say that I do not care about the gender as long as my baby is normal. Generally, people born with disabilities have a harder time coping up in this world. Finding a job and being independent is a lot harder for then. That's why I am really hoping that those who have disabilities know that they can avail of the ssdi. Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) provides income to people who are unable to work because due to disability.

Dwight's First Day at School

Last June 14, it was my son's first day at school. He's now in Kindergarten 2. Too bad, I was not able to take pictures of him. There are 10 students in the Kinder 2 class, 7 boys and 3 girls. They can still wear casual clothes for this week, but next week, they should be in uniform. I am so glad that Dwight likes his new school.

Dwight on Working Out

As early as now, Dwight is very interested about sports and working out. He sees my brother working out regularly and he is asking me how he can gain muscles like that. I explained to him that rigid workouts and testosterone booster can help a man gain muscles. It's hard to explain things to a child because they ask a lot of why's. But I am trying my best to let him understand that he's too young for the activities that my brother is doing. I suggested that he can practice running and playing basketball with my brother.

My Screen Saver

Today, I learned to create slide shows for my screen saver. I looked for old and new photos of Tyra and Dwight and created a screen saver out of their pictures. My two beautiful babies looked very adorable. Baby Tyra is my sister's daughter. My mom and dad is so happy about having a pair of wonderful babies as their grand kids.

When I have time, I am going to look for the old baby pictures of me and my siblings and make a slide show out of it.

The Importance of Knowing How to Swim

Dwight enjoys playing in the water but he does not know how to swim. If there's one skill I want my son to have that is to learn how to swim. It's very important that he can save his own life on the water. I, myself, do not know how to swim and I know how it feels to be not confident in the water. That's something I do not want him to experience. Next summer, I am planning to enroll him in a swimming class.

Quality Bathroom Faucets

When I became a mother, I practiced the importance of cleanliness at home. When I was single, I admit, I would not be the most organized and neatest person you'd know. Well, I just want everything around the house comfortable and safe for Dwight.

Recently, I noticed that the bathroom needs improvement. Since it is the area of the house we use everyday, I want quality materials to be used in the bathroom such as Grohe faucets and showers. Since they are made of quality materials, they are expected to last longer, making you save more money in the long run.
